IArea Services at ORA Chokoloskee... Premier SW Florida RV Resort
Chokoloskee is a small village with only 359 year-round residents. And even if combined with nearby Everglades City with only 400 year-rounders, we're not what most people have in mind when they think "city."
Hence, nearby services are limited. Most major services, such as hospitals, large supermarkets, metro shopping districts, car dealerships, RV services, airports, car rental agencies, and other typical urban services are located in Naples (30 miles north) and Ft. Myers (55 miles north).
The MULLETRAPPER is Everglades City's newspaper of record and is choked full of local news, listings, feature stories, and useful ads.
Everglades City has a small supermarket called The Right Stuff for quick trips. Most owners do their main weekly grocery shopping at Publix or Walmart at the intersection of Collier Blvd and Rt 41, a 35-minute drive.
Across the street from these supermarkets is The Fresh Market for gourmet items, excellent breads, and specialty items.
In the same plaza, Lowe's has a new store, and throughout Naples area all the major big box stores and Bealls Dept Stores, a favorite of women. A men's favorite is Bass Pro Shops next to the Ft. Myer's airport.
